Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. It is believed that she was the one responsible for initiating the modern study of the memory of witnesses and children as witnesses. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded several awards and grants. She has been a consultant to numerous organizations and government officials across the world on policies and studies on children who are victims of the justice system. She also serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center), of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Policy for Children and Families and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
